Bradwell Bombers Vs Red Street Condors

The Bombers took the lead with their first meaningful attack when Lewis Muncey fired across the keeper following a Richie Parkes long throw. Parkes was the provider for goal no. 2 when he caught out the Red Street defence with another long throw, Kaash Buttery seizing on the ball this time to burst through and score. Red Street’s keeper showed good handling skills from an Ethan Munden chip and Will Jordan showed good attacking presence to back up a solid defensive display. Red Street’s first foray as an attacking force was repelled by the rigid rearguard of Kieron Simms and PJ Salt with Parkes on hand to sweep up and Logan Westwick was coolness personified when dealing with a tricky back pass. Goal number three resulted from a neat interchange that saw Muncey fire home his second and the Munden opened his account after Ashley Summerfield’s cross evaded the keeper’s grasp. Bradwell kept up the pressure with a barrage of corners and after a handball offence it was left to Munden to rifle in his second and the Bombers’ fifth from the penalty spot. The visitors defence showed great resolve by somehow preventing a sixth goal after the ball was deflected against the bar.  On the stroke of half time the home side had a lucky escape when a penalty appeal was turned down.

Half Time 5 – 0

The home side strengthened their grip on the game with a sixth goal with Buttery tapping in following a scramble. Red Street kept their heads high and had their first serious attack of the second half but the shot went well wide. The best goal of the game came in the thirty fifth minute when Alex Kessel played a superb ball through to Summerfield whose brilliant cross was headed home in fine style by Theo Harvey. The next attack saw Harvey play a fine ball through to Summerfield but the shot went wide.  However, the Bombers continued to dominate and the eighth goal was converted by Liam Curley after another corner kick scramble. Another sweeping move on the right side involving Salt, Curley and Simms saw Summerfield fire wide again and Summerfield just failed to connect when Westwick, now on the left side of midfield, drilled the ball across the face of the six yard box. Buttery then completed his hat-trick with another close range finish and Summerfield finally opened his account by blasting home after another good feed from Kessel. The last goal of the game came when Curley flicked the ball for Buttery to tap home despite a great save from the visiting custodian.

Final Score 11 – 0 to the Bombers.
